Conscious Living during the Holidays

Did you know Christmas is a $465 billion industry in the United States every year? You see, we need up to $265 billion per year to end world hunger. In my family, I take a step every day to teach my kids to be less conforming to what society and TV commercials feed us and be more conscious and authentic to what speaks to our soul in every moment.
In my recent controversial video, I have given several tips to create more consciousness during the holidays for yourself and with your loved ones. Here are some of the pointers from the video:
- If your thought, belief, or action brings you joy, keep it. If not, toss it.
- Know that the best present is to BE present.
- Spend time and energy in experiences rather than things. This means fewer presents under the tree and fewer food items on the tables.
- Be vigilant where your self-care bucket might be leaking. Are you saying no when you need to say yes? Or saying yes when you need to say no? You do not have to be insensitive, but remember, you need to give from the overflow of your energy to people around you.
- Drop expectations. Take it easy. Breathe. Connect to your heart at every moment and ask yourself if what you “NEED” to do is actually what you WANT to do.
I have also offered a challenge at the end of the video. Watch the clip and let me know if you are up to it.
Since some people asked me to upload the videos somewhere other than Facebook, you can now watch them on YouTube as well!
