What Is Not Love Is a Cry for Love

Although I had the burning desire to find the Truth since teenage years, my recent serious quest for enlightenment started a couple of months ago. I resigned from a perfect software development job where I was utilizing my 10 years of university education and analytical skills. I knew there should be a reason for my resigning and it was unmistakably so as I expected. However, what ignited my long and hard research in the realm of the human mind was indeed my frustrating battle with my – previously victimhood view of genetic – reactivity with my children. Looked like I needed something more than forty plus parenting books and workshops and tons of other conventional tools and knowledge.
After some intense hundreds of hours of reading, researching and contemplating I found the elixir to achieve ALL… HUMAN MIND SOAKED WITH LOVE OR BETTER YET GRATITUDE.
I now believe I am to offer love and share my knowledge and support to those who ask for them. I have decided not to perform from fear and follow my intuition and inner light to keep it burning for me and all around me.
Here is my first tip that happens to be a parenting tip:
WHAT’S NOT LOVE, IS A CRY FOR LOVE.
If your children do not make the best choices (regardless of age), they are reacting to a need they have within. Reconnect with them. You can even ask them if they need a hug or some form of affection. You will be surprised that they always say YES. We have a code for these kinds of hugs (time for a 30 second heart-to-heart hug) and believe me that they work.
In the case of a struggle, ask them to give the “bad energy” in them a color. Then ask for their favorite color as “good energy”. Now ask them to take 3 deep breaths, breathing in the good color and exhaling the bad color in long deep breaths. They will need to see how the color changes outside their body (since energy doesn’t die, it only transforms). They should in the end visualize that they are filled with good color energy all over their body or where the bad energy was first concentrated.
All is possible if you are calm yourself first. Always remember the three steps at the time of struggle to be able to carry out these techniques as Dr. Laura Markham suggests:
Stop – Drop – Breathe
There is a great chance that you will also calm down by the long hug and the breathing technique. So you have hit two targets (avoiding the word, bird) with one stone. 🙂
Also, it’s never too early to practice daily meditation and deep breathing with the young ones.
